The Egyptian Unified Public Procurement Authority (UPA) will kick off the first edition of the Africa Health ExCon ​​under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi from June 5-7, 2022 at the International Conference Center Al-Manara and the Egyptian International Exhibition Center (EIEC).

Organized by Global Conference Management, the Africa Health ExCon ​​will bring together C-suite professionals from the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries under the theme “Your Gateway to Innovation and Commerce”.

As a result, pharmaceutical and healthcare companies will refocus on investment potentials in Africa through appropriate product sourcing and equitable distribution of medical technologies in all African countries, which contributes significantly to the achievement of the health sector agenda in Africa.

PAU Chief Major General Bahaa El-Din Zidane said Africa Health ExCon ​​is a sustainable platform that brings together global health partners under one roof and promotes intra-economic trade flows. extra-Africans.

He affirmed that the importance of Africa Health Excon has been manifested in the acceleration of Goal 3 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030. Goal 3 revolves around sustaining a life health, global health coverage and the guarantee of accessibility to reach certain quality thresholds for essential services.

In addition, Africa Health Excon aligns with the African Union’s Agenda 2063, which increases investment in the healthcare sector to improve the level of health in Africa.

Zidane also hailed recent efforts to transform Egypt into a pharmaceutical hub by developing the health sector as a pillar of Egypt’s Vision 2030 and following the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. .

Furthermore, he said that Egypt was working on restructuring a comprehensive healthcare system, a unified medical supply system, nationalizing the pharmaceutical industry as directed by political leaders and operating GYPTO Pharma in Al-Qalubiya.

These reforms translate positively into a 19-fold increase in health sector investments, reaching EGP 54 billion in 2021, compared to EGP 2.7 billion in 2013.

The event will also showcase best practices at regional and continental levels to achieve sustainable development and ensure accessible health services using high quality medical technologies.

Africa Health ExCon ​​is a unique opportunity for healthcare service providers to explore current trends in various segments including medical necessities and equipment, pharmaceuticals, laboratory consumables, chemicals, equipment and supplies dental, dermal products, nutrition, vitamins, healthcare providers, pharmacies, food industries and packaging segments.
